BOUT

On graduating with First Class Honours and the Academic Achievement Award in Contemporary Art from ATU Galway in 2021, I was shortlisted for the RDS Visual Art Awards and received a Graduate Curatorial Residency Award with Sample-Studios. I am an Education Officer and Gallery Assistant at TULCA Festival of Visual Arts, and was recently appointed as a Design Ambassador for Architecture at the Edge.

I am an emerging visual artist aiming to facilitate conversation with and for those who encounter my work. My practice addresses sexual and social dynamics, currently exploring how the body is represented in both public and private spaces through contexts of radical affection, feminist theory, and queer identity. Writing plays an important role in the development of the work, as poetry allows the space for energy to build and be expelled through an articulated riot-of-sorts. Through mixed-media installation I use concrete and collage to create detailed & often interactive forms that engage the body and our complex relationships within & across space.

I have a keen interest in the development of art and education, and am continuing with research from my undergraduate thesis titled ‘Switching Lenses: Investigating the potential of transdisciplinary thinking in education and art practices within a contemporary environment.’
