During my residency at PS2 in Belfast, I reacted to ideas of concrete as a material and concrete as a character through the prompts below.

“Test, Test, Test – insist, insist, insist!” …concrete in moulds, controlled, overflowing concrete free, moving – when and how does it set – different parameters… plastic, protection over feet, hands, body – move through & understand how it feels, changes, stills – cracking sections, what does (not) work: weak points, strength… smells and dusty tastes, (non-)use of a mask, drawing painting piling up: rendering space with concrete, investigating (non-)structures… respond in voice or text daily – a diary of action, pushing boundaries, performance…

“Wet cement smells like the feeling of cold, if you could smell feelings. And echoes, it smells like echoes.” – a reflection in 2022.
